Pharr, TX — A piece of South Texas history came down last week as Lone Star National Bank removed its beloved time and temperature sign, which stood tall at the intersection of FM 495 and US Expressway 281 since 1983. In its place now stands a bold new billboard proudly displaying our slogan: The Valley’s Bank and We Are LSNB, reaffirming our commitment to the people and communities we serve.
For over four decades, the illuminated sign became a familiar beacon for travelers and locals alike offering not just the time and temperature, but a sense of place and continuity. Many South Texans recall looking to that sign for updates during daily commutes, family road trips, and late-night drives.
“This new billboard is more than an upgrade, it’s a statement. #WeAreLSNB celebrates our deep roots in South Texas and our continued promise to stand with our communities,” said David Deanda, Jr., President LSNB.
The new billboard reflects LSNB’s evolution from a modest bank that opened its doors in 1983 with ten employees to a leading community institution with 33 locations and over 700 employees across the Rio Grande Valley and San Antonio, Texas.
We invite local media and community members to view the short video created by the LSNB Marketing Team, capturing the removal of the original sign and the installation of the new one. It’s a powerful moment that honors the past while embracing the future.
