What you need to apply for your new Business Account
Choose Your Business Type
Determine the documents you may need to verify your business registration and authority you have to act on behalf of the business
Sole Proprietor
- Social Security Number of the owner who will sign on the account or EIN of the business
- Certificate of Assumed Name or Fictitious Name Registration, also known as Trade Name Registration, Registration of Alternate Name, or Assumed Name Registration
Note: Certificate of Assumed Name is not required if the business name includes the owner's last name (Ex. Smith Flower Shop) and does not suggest the existence of additional owners by including words such as “Company, & Son(s), & Associates”.
Parternship
- Tax Identification Number of the partnership
- Social Security Number and Identification of each partner who will sign on the account
- Partnership Agreement
- Partnership Resolution

business:
- Legal name, Social Security Number, Date of Birth, Address, Citizenship, Percent of Ownership
Limited Liability Company (LLC)

Tax Identification Number of the Limited Liability Company
- Single Member SMLLC’s may use the member’s Social Security Number or EIN
- Social Security Number and Identification of members, managers, or partners who will sign on the account.
- Limited Liability Company Resolution
- Certification of Formation/Organization (LLC) or Certificate of Limited Partnership (LLP) or if formed before Jan 2006, Articles of Organization
- Certificate of Assumed Name (if applicable, filed with SOS), Fictitious Name Registration, also known as Trade Name Registration, Registration of Alternate Name, or Assumed Name Registration

Unincorporated Association / Organization
- Tax Identification Number of the club, organization, or association

- Meeting Minutes
Proffesional Association
- Tax Identification Number of the professional association
- Social Security Number and Identification of the directors who will sign on account
- Professional Association or Corporate Resolution
- Certificate of Formation, of if formed before Jan 2006, Association Articles and Certificate of Professional Association
NGO, Charities, and Religious Organizations
- Determine from list above the entity type associated with your Non-Profit Organization to understand which documents are needed.
- A 501(c) tax form or state Non-Profit registration may be needed for certain product eligibility or waived monthly service fee.
Foreign / International
- Requirements may vary depending on business type and ownership. To determine requirements, contact our International Department at (956) 574-7320.
Forms of Identification
One form of primary identification is required to apply. Primary identification must bear a photograph, be government issued, current (not expired), have an issuance date and expiration date.
- Driver’s License from any State of the United States
- US Passport Book or US Passport Card
- US Permanent Resident Card
- Identification Card from any State of the United States
- Tribal ID with Photo (US only)
