On August 3, 2004, the South Texas Minority Business Opportunity Committee and The
University of Texas Pan-American awarded Lone Star National Bank the Financial Advocate
Award in recognition of support to minority-owned businesses in South Texas. On May 28,
2004, Lone Star National Bank made a commitment to loan $25 million dollars over the next
12 months to minority-owned businesses. These loans helped minority-owned businesses with
working capital, expansion capital, and start-up capital in South Texas.
